Privacy Policy
The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices.
The KyEducators.org Web site and the courses and campuses available via the KyEducators.org
Web site contain links to other sites. KyEducators.org is not responsible for
the privacy practices or content of Web sites other than KyEducators.org. We
recommend you refer to each Web site's privacy policy before giving out
any personal information.
Collecting, Maintaining, and Sharing Information
During the registration for courses, KyEducators.org collects personal information
from its users for several reasons.
As a hub for delivering online courses offered by various educational
institutions, KyEducators.org collects the student, instructor, and administrator
information required by educational institutions. KyEducators.org stores this
information on its servers and makes the information available to the
proper institution(s). As a vehicle for delivering online courses, KyEducators.org
must gather and review personal user information to verify that course
participants and their use of course materials are legitimate.
The KyEducators.org Web site requires a username and password combination to
access courses and some features of courses. In addition, KyEducators.org strongly
recommends that you provide an email address and first and last name when
requesting help. Demographic information about our registered users allows
KyEducators.org to provide educational opportunities and services that meet our
users' needs. Understanding our users allows KyEducators.org to respond to those
needs and to enhance the performance of KyEducators.org to the benefit of our
users. KyEducators.org and third party licensees may use non-personally identifiable
profile information to generate aggregate reports and market research
in the form of statistics, which cannot be matched with your personally
identifiable information.
Within the system, students only have access to their own demographic
information. One student cannot access private information about another
student (beyond essentials such as name and email address if students
are enrolled in the same course). Instructors also have limited access
but can enter assessment information (hidden from student). In addition,
KyEducators.org uses cookies to enable functionality within the KyEducators.org links.
You must accept browser cookies to access KyEducators.org member areas. KyEducators.org
cookies recall only a username and password. When you quit your browser,
the cookie will be erased from memory. KyEducators.org does not use cookies to
gather personal information about you. We do, however, use cookies to
gather non-personal usage data. This information helps us to continually
improve the usefulness of the information we provide at this site.
In regards to the sharing of user information, KyEducators.org does not share,
sell, or rent personally identifiable information, including your email
address, with outside third parties without your expressed consent. Student
information is stored in a secured database accessible only by the KyEducators.org
staff, who constantly monitor the system for unauthorized use.
The KyEducators.org Web site has security measures that protect the loss, misuse
and alteration of information under our control.
Communicating
This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups
available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed
in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution
when deciding to disclose your personal information.
Email addresses are required in order to register for courses on KyEducators.org.
We do not share our users' email addresses to third parties for unsolicited
email communications. Because we host courses and content, we may need
to contact users regarding system issues, even though they may have opted
to not receive KyEducators.org offers or updates.
