Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get professional development credit
for taking an online KyEducators course?
Check with the chair of your school's professional development
committee BEFORE beginning the course. The chair presents the request
for professional development to the school based decision-making (SBDM)
council. Upon approval from the SBDM council, the PD committee chair
notifies the teacher.
Teachers then complete the online module and present certificate
of successful completion of the instructional module (available at the
conclusion of the module) to their PD chair who logs the credit. The
possible number of professional development hours is listed with each
module.
I’m not a Kentucky teacher, but I’m
interested in taking a course, can I?
KyEducators courses that are not for academic credit are open to anyone.
If you are not a resident or educator in Kentucky, you will have to
pay out of state fees.
I enrolled and paid for a course, but
now I can’t take it. Can I get a refund?
Refunds are available (minus service fee of $15) within
one week after payment, if the student has not been active in the course.
To request a refund, please send an email to epsbkyed@mail.state.ky.us
with your name, address, phone number, userID, class(es) you wish to
drop, reason for withdrawal, and original method of payment. For further
help, call the KYEducators Coordinator at (502) 564-4606 ext. 234 or
toll-free (888) 598-7667.
